Introduction
• Schools that work with and for the community;
• Schools that build a caring and supportive school culture and
community; and
• Schools that contribute to continual strengthening of the
school system.
Approach:
The programme covers leadership and management in education
from the personal level, moving to institutional level, and from there
to the education system as a whole. The programme wants to
contribute to the quality of life in South African communities by
empowering educational leaders to lead and manage in such a way
that quality education is ensured.
The role and impact of change and the pro-active management of
change is emphasised throughout the programme.
Rationale:
To provide a structured professional learning pathway for current and
aspirant school principals that will equip them with the knowledge
and competences to manage and lead their schools effectively and in
alignment with national goals.
Specific outcomes
