The ultimate objective of reflection is to improve the status quo
(current situation).
EXAMPLE: To reflect on a project/task immediately after completion
thereof.
When you get to the discussion on action research in Theme 2, you
will realise the importance of this skill. It probably is one of the most
important life skills any human being can possess. It teaches you to
look critically at a specific set of facts, to think analytically and then
to devise a plan of action to improve that set of circumstances.
Improving the status quo in any context is equivalent to growth.
An old Chinese proverb says: “He not growing, is dying!” -
