Introduction
Only a small part of this module will be assessed on its own while
you are completing this module. The main assessment of the
portfolio will happen throughout the programme, with the final
summative assessment being conducted at the end of the
programme, i.e. towards the end of your second year. The reason for
this is/being that the portfolio must provide “evidence of applied
competence in terms of the core exit level outcomes of the AdvDip
(School Leadership and Management)”.
This means that you will use the portfolio to record all the evidence
that is relevant to the core exit level outcomes of the AdvDip
qualification. Theme 1 will cover issues around evidence and provide
guidelines on how to select evidence that is relevant to these
outcomes.
How does this module relate to the rest of the programme?
This module forms an integral part of the whole programme. It
articulates with all the other modules. All the modules in the
programme are interrelated and must not be read / dealt with in
isolation; they all form one integrated whole. Frequently refer back to
the programme map on page 5 as well as the module map on page
10 to see the interrelatedness of all modules when you lose track /
get confused.
